Obama on the Surge, Pathetic Iraqi politicians, Faith

without comments

Obama on the surge – “My assessment is that if we put an additional 30,000 of our outstanding troops into Baghdad, that that’s going to quell some of the violence, short term. I don’t think that there’s ever been any doubt about that. And I don’t think that there’s any doubt that as long as US troops are present, that, you know, they are going to be doing outstanding work.

It doesn’t change the underlying assessment, which is that there’s not a military solution to the problem in Iraq, and that the political dynamic in Iraq has not changed. The only thing that the Iraqi legislature appears to have agreed to, as the surge took place, was a motion to adjourn and go on vacation.

“And the ongoing question is how can we trigger a serious conversation and a responsible conversation between the Shiite and the Sunni and the Kurds that will reduce the sectarian conflict. That is not happening, and until it does, we are going to continue to see long-term problems, there, and it’s my assessment that until we begin a phased withdrawal from Iraq, we’re not going to get the sort of serious talks within Iraq and in the region, that are required.”

That’s CRYSTAL CLEAR. It’s also LOGICAL. OF COURSE the Surge worked. 30,000 U.S. Soldiers can turn around anything in the SHORT TERM. However, Obama makes an excellent point. At some point the Iraqis have to become self sufficient! America cannot keep throwing our GIs into the MEAT GRINDERS of Baghdad and Fallujah while Iraqi politicians go on VACATION!

Back in the Summer of 2007 these PHONY IRAQI POLITICIANS originally schemed for 2 MONTHS OFF! American Outrage caused them to only take 1 month off(STILL an outrage in my book…)

“If they go off on vacation for two months while our troops fight — that would be the outrage of outrages,” said Rep. Chris Shays, R-Conn

God help them if they do it again.

THESE LAZY CORRUPT POLITICIANS ARE THE REASON WHY THE SURGE ULTIMATELY FAILED. Our brave soldiers did their part.

Bickering among Blocs over who gets percentages of money? They’re not even willing to be BIPARTISAN to achieve CRITICAL MAJORITIES for their country’s future. There have been times in history when the Democrats and Republicans have teamed up to battle a greater evil.

My Message to the Iraqi Politicians: Stop this Tribal Clique Bullshit in your Parliament. WORK TOGETHER. It’s pretty pathetic that our TROOPS believe in Iraq more then you JOKERS do.

I hope for Iraq’s sake a Barack Obama or a Teddy Roosevelt kind of a statesman emerges to lead a bipartisan team. But the realist in me is cynical about the chances of that…

Recently, an Israeli Newspaper published a private prayer Obama placed in Jerusalem’s Wailing Wall.

“Lord — Protect my family and me. Forgive me my sins, and help me guard against pride and despair. Give me the wisdom to do what is right and just. And make me an instrument of your will” – Barack Obama

Personally I’m a Catholic. I think that’s an excellent and meaningful prayer.

I think that answers all the questions by the right wing gasbags like Sean Hannity who made Obama’s faith a POLITICAL ISSUE. Obama has a personal and meaningful relationship with God. It’s not a black and white relationship and maybe that’s a GOOD THING!

Frankly I think Sean Hannity and other Republican Gasbags should read that prayer to themselves before they DIMINISH the power of faith by talking about BULLSHIT Reverand Wright rumors 24/7 to try to sway the election.

GMU for McCain never responded to my damning charge that John McCain is a NEOCONSERVATIVE. He has NEOCONSERVATIVE Foreign Policy Advisors. The man advocates a NEOCONSERVATIVE Foreign policy.

a McCain Presidency would be INSANITY…

I hate John McCain(big shocker there LOL) Obama world tour :)

without comments

yeha it’s been a while….

The prospect of a McCain presidency should scare every American.

Look at McCain’s Foreign Policy Minions: Take Randy Scheunemann for example.

Thanks to Randy’s VISION we can’t even PAY for our own WAR. We are BORROWING from CHINA

Thanks to Randy’s VISION America has lost 4,124 Soldiers

Thanks to Randy’s VISION America has 30,435 wounded soldiers

The man who helped create the war that created that face is advising John Mcain

Face it folks John McCain is a total Neoconservative. If he is President we’re doomed on multiple fronts.

It Should come as no surprise that Germany has become an OBAMAnation :) The prospect of the United States engaging in diplomacy and not lumping countries together as “old Europe” is a happy prospect indeed.

Germany like America has seen the light

Obama will save us from the evil blood thirsty neoconservatives who wrap themselves in the American flag and yellow support the troops SUV stickers….

Help is on the way world…

Help is on the way….

Progress vs the Same Old Shit….

I know what I’m voting for…

cranky old McBush continues to want 100% his way or nothing

without comments

“Barack Obama offered to meet John McCain at five joint appearances between now and Election Day — the three traditional debates plus a joint town hall on the economy in July and an in-depth debate on foreign policy in August. That package of five engagements would have been the most of any Presidential campaign in the modern era — offering a broad range of formats — and representing a historic commitment to openness and transparency.

“It’s disappointing that Senator McCain and his campaign decided to decline this proposal. Apparently they would rather contrive a political issue than foster a genuine discussion about the future of our country.

“Senator Obama believes that the American people deserve an open and accessible debate as they choose between real change and four more years of failed Bush policies, and he welcomed McCain’s invitation to offer voters ‘the rare opportunity of witnessing candidates for the highest office in the land discuss civilly and extensively the great issues at stake in the election.” – David Plouffe

Barack Obama is willing to compromise for the greater good of the voters.

Cranky McBush wants 100% his way or the highway

Vote BARACK OBAMA!

why Barack Obama will be our next President

without comments

Hey everyone it’s been a while but I’m going to try to better at updating this thing..

1. Barack Obama offers a strong and clear alternative to McCain/Bush cowboy type foreign policy. McCain/Bush essentially called Barack Obama an appeaser for being open to talking to our enemies.

John McCain wants to have it both ways. He wants to play the 1968 card of Democrats being soft on defense while he gets to talk about “dealing” with Hamas.

“Clinton backer James P. Rubin has an op-ed in today’s Washington Post that’s bound to generate plenty of discussion. “Two years ago, just after Hamas won the Palestinian parliamentary elections, I interviewed McCain for the British network Sky News’s ‘World News Tonight’ program. Here is the crucial part of our exchange: I asked: ‘Do you think that American diplomats should be operating the way they have in the past, working with the Palestinian government if Hamas is now in charge? McCain answered: ‘They’re the government; sooner or later we are going to have to deal with them, one way or another, and I understand why this administration and previous administrations had such antipathy towards Hamas because of their dedication to violence and the things that they not only espouse but practice, so . . . but it’s a new reality in the Middle East. I think the lesson is people want security and a decent life and decent future, that they want democracy. Fatah was not giving them that.’” -  (http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/archive/2008/05/16/1029617.aspx)

“Let us never negotiate out of fear. But let us never fear to negotiate.” – JFK.

The American people want change. They want a President who will sit down and engage the world in REAL DIPLOMACY. Barack Obama will talk to Iran. That is a good thing. Was it not Sun Tzu who said “know thy enemy”? Ronald Reagan knew Gorbachev. That one on one diplomacy prevented nuclear war between the Soviets and America.

The neoconservative foreign policy of exporting democracy by sending in the marines has failed. We need to focus on the war we can win in Afghanistan, restore our focus on capturing Bin Laden and brokering peace in the region between Israel and Palestine. Barack Obama will restore sanity and stability to the region.

Iraq – “Obama will immediately begin to remove our troops from Iraq. He will remove one to two combat brigades each month, and have all of our combat brigades out of Iraq within 16 months. Obama will make it clear that we will not build any permanent bases in Iraq. He will keep some troops in Iraq to protect our embassy and diplomats; if al Qaeda attempts to build a base within Iraq, he will keep troops in Iraq or elsewhere in the region to carry out targeted strikes on al Qaeda” – BarackObama.com

Iran – “Obama is the only major candidate who supports tough, direct presidential diplomacy with Iran without preconditions. Now is the time to pressure Iran directly to change their troubling behavior. Obama would offer the Iranian regime a choice. If Iran abandons its nuclear program and support for terrorism, we will offer incentives like membership in the World Trade Organization, economic investments, and a move toward normal diplomatic relations. If Iran continues its troubling behavior, we will step up our economic pressure and political isolation. Seeking this kind of comprehensive settlement with Iran is our best way to make progress” – BarackObama.com

Israel – “He will make a sustained push – working with Israelis and Palestinians – to achieve the goal of two states, a Jewish state in Israel and a Palestinian state, living side by side in peace and security” – BarackObama.com

2. Barack Obama stands for bipartisanship – Americans are sick of Republican vs Democrat nuclear warfare where nothing gets done. Washington D.C. has been polarized for quite some time thanks to people like Karl Rove. Barack has worked with Republicans on BIG ISSUES not just little fluff stuff either.

  1. He joined Senator Dick Lugar(R-Ind) in passing a law to help the United States and our allies detect and stop the smuggling of weapons of mass destruction throughout the world.
  2. He joined Senator Chuck Hagel(R-Neb) to pass a bill that seeks to prevent nuclear terrorism, reduce global nuclear arsenals, and stop the spread of nuclear weapons.
  3. He joined Senator Tom Coburn(R-Oak) to pass the “Federal Funding Accountability and Transparency Act,” a bill that will create a Google-like search engine and database to track approximately $1 trillion in federal grants, contracts, earmarks and loans.

Real Substance and a record of bipartisanship.

3. Yes We Can Politics – Barack Obama has inspired a nation. The man believes in the politics of hope and America to return to greatness. People are sick of Nuclear Warfare between Republicans and Democrats. Obama’s message of change and hope has stirred the nation’s soul. The times choose the man. Barack Obama is THE LEADER for our times.

Hillary Clinton is sinking in the polls and in her tactics

without comments

Voters are sick of this shrill voice in American Politics. They are sick of the mudslinging.
“If you average the “poll of polls” — AP-IPSOS, USA Today/Gallup and CBS/New York Times — Obama leads Clinton 50 percent to 40 percent, with 10 percent unsure “
http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/02/26/schneider.poll/?iref=mpstoryview
Obama is leading in Texas(http://www.pollster.com/08-TX-Dem-Pres-Primary.php) He is catching up to her in Ohio(http://www.wkyc.com/news/rss_article.aspx?ref=RSS&storyid=83896) She had over a 20 percentage point lead back in 07. Now it’s down to single digits with March 4th quickly approaching.
How long can Hillary Clinton soldier on? She has lost 11 primaries in a row.
Newsweek’s Jonathan Alter called for her to bow out now
“The choice before her is to go down ugly with a serious risk of humiliation at the polls, or to go down classy, with a real chance of redemption “
http://www.newsweek.com/id/114725
– Is Hillary Clinton going to just “keep going” or will she bow out with class?
